Supriya should work hard to build her political career;Pawar
Mumbai, Aug 5 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister and NCP President Sharad Pawar today said the party's parliamentary board will take a decision on nominating his only daughter Supriya Sule for the Rajya Sabha seat which has fallen vacant after the death of sitting MP Vasant Chavan.
Addressing a press conference at the end of the two-day meeting of the Maharashtra unit of his party's elected representatives and officebearers, Mr Pawar said it was up to the parliamentary board to decide on the candidature. ''The Election Commission is yet to issue notification for the by-election'', he said and added that if his advice was asked, he would suggest that she (Supriya) needs some more probation time.
When asked about his views on Supriya's entry into the party, Mr Pawar said, ''I am always happy when my party gets new members''.
To a question on whether he saw any bigger role for his daughter in the party, he said every new member has to work hard to reach to the top.
To a question on what would be his message for Supriya, Mr Pawar said his advice to all newcomers would be to do constructive and developmental work, be a disciplined soldier of the party, respect party's senior leaders and work hard to built their own political careers.
