Reliance Ind beneficiary of Haryana Govt's land reforms policy:Karat
Ahmedabad, Aug 5 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Prakash Karat today fired another salvo at Reliance Industries by saying the Haryana Government has bestowed upon it a huge wasteland plot under the guise of land reforms policy.
Addressing a public meeting at the Kamdar Kalyan Maidan in Raipur area of the city this evening, Mr Karat said Reliance Industries has been provided 5,000 acres of wasteland for cultivating under the Haryana Government's land reform policy.
Mr Karat said under the land reform policies, every state government is required to hand over wasteland to poor and marginal farmers or farm labourers for cultivation.
Earlier, talking to reporters the CPI (M) leader, alleged that Reliance was the biggest beneficiary of the ''oil-for-food'' scam according to the Volcker report.
