Randhawa squanders good start, fails to make cut in Sweden
Malmo, Sweden, Aug 5 (UNI) Jyoti Randhawa squandered the early advantage as he failed to make the cut after carding a poor one-over 73 in the second round of the 2.4 million dollar EnterCard Scandinavian Masters at Barseback Golf and Country Club here.
The Indian pro struggled for the second day in a row as he came up with a successive over-par card to finish with a four-day total of four-over 148.
Randhawa, playing his back nine first, got off to a good start by gaining a shot on the 10th and 12th but things went horribly wrong for him after that as he missed the cut by three shots.
The seasoned golfer bogeyed the 17th before making the turn to play his front nine. He did not make the best of starts to his other nine as he dropped a shot on the first. A brace of bogeys on the third and fourth followed and even a birdie on the fifth failed to help his cause as he dropped out of contention.
The Indian was left tied 111th.
Meanwhile, at the top of the leaderboard, Englishman Mark Roe's spectacular second round score of seven-under 65 propelled him to the tied first spot with a two-day total of 10-under 134.
Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts joind Roe at the top after carding a five-under 67. Swede Fredrik Jacobson (67) and Scot Marc Warren (69) led the chase two shots back.
