No-confidenc motion against J

Srinagar, Aug 5 (UNI) Deputy Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today rejected the opposition National Conference (NC) sponsored no-confidence motion against chaiman Abdul Rashid Dar.

The members gave a no confidence motion against chairman Mr Dar demanding his ouster from the chairmanship.

The motion was discussed and the proceedings were conducted when Deputy Chairman P Namgayal was in the chair.

The NC supported the motion but the members from the treasury bench said the notice given by the NC legislators was not of the order and deserves rejection.

Mr Namgyal in his ruling rejected the notice on grounds that no reason has been given for the no-confidence notice and no specific charge has been leveled and affixed.

He also said that the resolution does not bear the signatures of the nine legislators who have given the notice.

Mr Namgyal later adjourned the house sine die.
