Munde demands CBI inquiry in July 11 serial train blasts
Pune, Aug 5 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Gopinath Munde today blamed the state government for its ''lethargic attitude'' in failing to prevent the July 11 serial train blasts in Mumbai despite being forewarned by the Central Intelligence Agencies and demanded that a thorough inquiry should be conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the blasts.
Talking to reporters at Patrakar Bhavan here, Mr Munde alleged that some of the suspects have been taken into custody without any lead being established and lambasted the government for groping in the dark.
He also held neighbouring Bangladesh responsible for spreading terrorist activities and also circulating counterfeit currency in India with a view to destabilise the country and its economy.
Taking an all-round view of the prevailing situation, the senior leader said his party would launch a month-long state-wide agitation from August 7 till September 15, focusing on all important issues such as the recent price rise of essential commodities and the train blasts, which are affecting the people.
During the month-long agitation, the party would hold 84 public rallies and meetings, out of which 14 will be held in Mumbai itself, Mr Munde elaborated.
