Militants cannot infiltrate into Army: General
Srinagar, Aug 5: Terming the arrest of three Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) personnel for their alleged links with militants ''an isolated incident,'' XV Corps GOC Lt. General S S Dhillon said militants will never succeed in infiltrating into the army.
''The incident was of great concern to us and we took it very seriously,'' Lt Gen Dhillon told reporters on the sidelines of passing out parade of 248 new recruits here today.
''We are not taking the incident lightly as any kind of security lapses is great concern to us all,'' he said, adding that it was however, an isolated incident and militants would never succeed infiltrating the army.
When asked if some more measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in future, Lt Gen Dhillon said it was not something which required any dramatic review in the recruitment policy.
It was great concern but not a cause of alarm, he said adding this was not a first case. There was one or two cases in the past when some suspected links with militants or esponage were detected, he added.
