Meridian launches its Fly brand mobile in karnataka

Bangalore, Aug 5: Aiming at a sizeable replacement market for mobile phones, Meridian Mobile today launches five brand of its sleek models ''Fly'' in Karnataka.

Company CEO for India Rajiv Khanna said that the company aimed at a turnover of Rs.100 crore for the current year for its cell phone which enjoyed a three to five per cent market share globally.

He said more than 5000 retail outlets would be offering Fly mobile phones across the country. Already, 60 per cent of the country had been covered and in a couple of months the operations would be pan India.

Fly mobile phones were launched two years ago in East and Central Europe and had since emerged as a strong player in the market. The phones would soon be launched in UK, Spain, Germany and other parts of South Asia, he added.

He said that the company had a strong vendor base of over 1000 with whom it tied up for accessories. Currently the mobile phones marketed in India come from Korea.
