Irfan Alam becomes India's first Business Baazigar
Mumbai, Aug 5 (UNI) The search for the most intriguing business idea has drawn to a close with the announcement of India's first Business Bazaigar - Irfan Alam - in Zee TV's magnum opus reality show that offered an opportunity to the common man to turn his business idea into a reality.
The finale episode will be telecast on August 12 at 2000 hrs on Zee TV.
Delhi-based Irfan was a surprise wild card entry into the finals.
He beat the two finalists Puneet and Ali Ismail to become India's first Business Baazigar.
At the grand finale in Mumbai today, Mr Kamal Nath, Hon Union Minister of Commerce and Industry was the guest of honour. The winner was felicitated by Mr Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Zee Network and Mrs Rajashree Birla. The event was attended by the who's who from the Mumbai's business community.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Punit Goenka Business head Zee TV said, ''We are glad to announce India's first Business Baazigar after several months of hard work. After undergoing gruelling tasks he has proved worthy to be Business Baazigar. This show is a exceptional one that has intense reality drama besides the unique concept.'' He further said, ''Business Baazigar attempts to bring life to a commendable idea. We are glad to have Aditya Birla group as our partners in this venture of supporting a deserving business idea.'' Business Baazigar is a journey of 20 participants who were eventually scaled down two finalists. They were put through gruelling tasks that tested their business acumen and team spirit. After every task the jury decided the fate of the contestants.
During the event, the jury awarded three contestants as ''Mini Baazigars''. They are Irfan Alam, Anju Purohit and Prakash Mundhra.
Irfan's idea enables people to make themselves eligible to win anything from a mobile phone to a television set to a car by buying a 10 rupee code for that thing.
Prakash's idea is to make branded pooja kits and make them available at supermarkets. He proposes to assemble Pooja samagri, package it to make it attractive for a supermarket/ hypermarket to keep it on its shelf.
Anju's idea is to provide a home away from home exclusively for the Non-Resident Indians. This project will be providing them with not only an accomodation at a reasonable rate for a long duration but also basic facilities like simple and hygenically prepared home made food, laundry etc.
