Indian teen leads 6 kg shot put rankings

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Ninteen-year-old Saurabh Vij, a bright medal prospect in the World Junior Athletics Championship to be held in Beijing, tops the world junior shot put rankings in the six kg category.

Saurabh's personal best is 20.35m which he recorded in the Junior Federation Cup in Chennai on June 17, 2006.

According to the latest rankings, the Chennai lad tops the chart, ahead of Cuban Carlos Veliz and Mostafa Abdul of Egypt occupying the next two spots.

Chinese Wang Like, South African JP Hoffman, Guo Yanxiang of China, Slovak Robert Lobb, Russian Ivan Semyonov, Mashari Mohammad of Kuwait and Russian L Konstantin complete the top 10 list.
