Heacy rains in MP, life disrupted in Badwani
Bhopal, Aug 5 (UNI) Normal life was disrupted in Badwani district in western Madhya Pradesh due to heavy rains even as water from a pond entered into Sakad village and communication to several villages in the district was cut off.
Badwani Collector Arun Tiwari said after water entered into the village, residents were evacuated and shifted to temporary relief camps and adequate assistance provided to them.
After witnessing a brief lull in monsoon activity, heavy downpours soaked Madhya Pradesh again.
Meteorological department said the phase of downpours in the state was continuing courtesy a low-pressure area built above Vidarbha.
Downpours lashed the state capital last night and today morning.
However, it stopped after some time and a clear sky was overcast.
Ujjain recorded seven cm rainfall overnight, while other chief amounts of rainfall were at Bhainsdehi (5 cm), Pachmarhi (4), Harda (4), Sailana (4), Jawra (3), Chicholi (3), Ratlam (3), Umaria (2), Balaghat (2), Katangi (2), Varseoni (2), Patan (2), Champa (2), Deori (2), Sarangpur (2), Sagar (1), Banda (1), Rehali (1), Damoh (1), Betul (1), Khandwa (1), Shajapur (1), Chhindwara (1), Seoni (1) and Shahdol (1).
The department forecast rains over most parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
