Ex Union Minister injured, wife dies in accident

Chennai, Aug 5 (UNI) Former Union Minister and Congress leader R Dhanushkodi Adityan suffered fractures, while his wife was killed in a road accident in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received at the Police headquarters here, said Mr Adityan and five others including his wife, were on their way to Tuticorin from Tirunelveli when the car in which they were travelling, met with an accident near Pudukkottai village in the district.

The mishap occurred when the car ran out of control following a tyre burst.

While Mr Adityan suffered fractures on his right hand and right leg and was admitted to a hospital, his wife was killed on the spot.

Four others who sustained injuries in the accident were rushed to the hospital.
