CPI urges film and sport stars to stop acting in ads
Hyderabad, Aug 5 (UNI) Demanding that the government must ban the sale of soft drinks, which contain hazardous ingredients as per the recent laboratory reports Communist Party of India (CPI) Andhra Pradesh unit today urged film stars and sports personalities to stop acting in soft drink advertisements.
Addressing the press here, CPI state Secretary K Narayana said many soft drinks, including Pepsi and Coke contain pesticides as ingredients which can cause severe health impact on the consumers.
The government should take the issue seriously and curb the consumption of soft drinks in the state.
Stating that the CPI would stage dharnas and demonstrations before the bottling centres and shops, he said film stars should think of public health and stop promoting soft drinks.
The CPI would also conduct awareness programmes against soft drinks among the people, he said.
