Coast Guard rescues 36 of 46 fishermen
Rajahmundry, Aug 5 (UNI) As many as 36 of the 46 fishermen, who went missing from August one, were rescued by the Cost Guard today.
The fishermen hailing from Parlopeta, Dumalapeta, Uppalanka villages in Kakinada district had ventured into sea from Visakhapatnam harbour and were missing since date, said Assistant Director of Fisheries V Ramamohna Rao today.
However, the body of Chinthapalli Simhadri (35), who slipped from the boat and drowned, was yet to be traced.
They had ventured into sea in eight fibre boats, on August one and were expected on Visakhapatnam harbour by the following evening.
As they did not return, the Coast Gaurd was alerted who traced six boats near Bhimili and carried out the rescue.
However, ten of them, in two boats, were yet to be spotted and the Cost Guard pressed Helicopters into service to trace them.
