Chatha solicits public views on need for Gurudwara Committee
Chandigarh, Aug 5 (UNI) The H S Chatha Committee constituted for the formation of a separate State Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee has invited suggestions from the public or Sikh-related organisations, to determine the need of a separate Haryana Gurudwara Management Committee.
The Member Secretary of the Committee, Mr N S Bhinder said the Committee has invited the suggestions, proposals and views from individuals, Sikh religious bodies and NGOs connected with the affairs of Sikhs to ascertain whether there was a need or desirability for carving out a separate Gurdwara management Committee from the existing Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee within the jurisdiction of Haryana.
For this, a bill needs to be brought in the Haryana Assembly and a separate Act will have to be passed with the concurrence of the Central Government and assent of the President.
The views must be sent within a month on a sworn affidavit.
