Antulay felicitates Khalap on 60th birthday

Panaji, Aug 5 (UNI) Union Minister for Minorities A R Antulay today felicitated former Union Minister of State for Law and Judiciary Ramakant Khalap on the occasion of the latter's 60th birth birthday.

Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Wilfred De Souza, GPCC president Ravi Naik, Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Speaker Vasant Davkhere, renowned writer Viswas Patil and others were present on the occasion.

Mr Khalap served as legislator for over 20 years and was also Leader of the Opposition before becoming Union Law Minister. His well wishers have constituted the ''Khalap Hirak Mahotsav Samiti'' and have published a souvenir ''Gauravika''.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Antulay promised to urge Congress president Sonia Gandhi to assure a Rajya Sabha berth for Mr Khalap.

While heaping praises upon Mr Khalap, Mr Antuilay said the former was a good statesman, a true politician and a social worker.
