Anbumani Ramadoss elected PMK youth wing president
Chennai, Aug 5 (UNI) Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and senior Pattalai Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss was today elected President of party's youth wing.
Dr Ramadoss was unanimously elected to the post at the party's administrative committee meeting, chaired by his father and PMK founder leader Dr S Ramadoss and presided over by party President and MLA G K Mani.
PMK MPs and MLAs, who attended the meeting, offered their felicitations to the Union Minister, a party release here said.
Later, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and sought his blessings after showing him the ''Luther L Terry Award'', he had recieved in recognition of his excellent performance in anti-tobacco advocacy, at Washington DC.
After putting the medal around the neck of Dr Anbumani, Mr Karunanidhi congratulated him and gave his blessings, a PMK release said.
The Chief Minister, who was slightly indisposed, was avoiding meeting visitors, but agreed to receive Dr Ramadoss, the release added.
