Will she or won't she is the big question?

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) For the last two decades, she has never stepped out in the open in spite of being the leading Tollywood actress of her times.

But that has not stopped the Information and Broadcasting Ministry from evincing keen interest in presenting the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award to Suchitra Sen for the year 2006.

It will be interesting to see whether the Jury decides to favour Suchitra Sen for the award but what everyone from the film fraternity to the general public will wait with bated breath is to see whether or not she comes out in the open to receive the award (If she does).

Nageshwar Rao, Yash Chopra, Adoor Gopalkrishnan and Mrinal Sen are among the Jury who will decide the Dada Saheb Phalke winner.

Previously she had turned down the legendrary Satyajit Ray's offer to act in his film, Ghore Baire.

Suchitra Sen was easily one of the finest actors of her times and has acted in 'Aandhi' opposite Sanjeev Kumar, where shadows of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was reflected in her looks and character.

Mystery shrouds her hibernation for the last twenty years as rumours and speculations fly thick and fast about her life which is nothing short of a potential potboiler itself.

She has given all public appearances a miss for all these years, preferring the four walls as company at her residence in 54/1, Ballygunje Circular road instead. But her memory still lingers on even today.
