Total foreign exchange reserves grow by USD 675 mn to USD 164.023 bn

Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) According to a weekly statistical report issued by Reserve Bank of India, the total foreign exchange reserves as on July 28 grew by US 675 million dollar to touch USD 164.023 billion as compared to the previous figure of USD 163.348 billion.

The foreign currency assets also as on July 28 surged to USD 157.071 billion as compared to previous week's USD 156.390 billion.

Besides, in keeping with the best international practices, the cental bank has included USD 76.5 billion as reserves in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is two million more than the previous week's figure of 76.30 billion.

The figures for the total food credit and non-food credit as well as the total outstanding on accommodation provided to the commercial sector by the scheduled commercial banks as on July 21 for the food credit stood at Rs 36,056 crore and for the non-food credit it was at Rs 15,13,529 crore.

Total outstanding as on July 21 was to the tune of Rs 48,218 crore.
