Three people die in rain related incidents in saurashtra

Rajkot, Aug 4 (UNI) Even as the intensity of rains in Saurashtra region has come down since past 24 hours, three youths have lost their lives in rain related incidents yesterday, reports reaching here said today.

According to official sources, a 22-year-old- youth drowned in a pond at Monpar village of Amreli district whereas 20-year-old youth was carried away in swirling water of Bhadar river near Gosbara in Porbandar district. Fire Brigade staff rushed there to save the youth but could not trace him till last night.

A teen-aged boy drowned in the rivelut at Amblash village of Talala taluka in Junagadh district.

The deceased Vinod Makwana was slipped into heavy current of water and drowned, the sources said. The other two deceased were identifed as Natubhai Mepabhai Sondarva and Mansukh Dinesh, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the situation in saurashtra region which witnessed heavy rains since last few days, was fast improving and there was trace rains in the region, the reports said.

Babra taluka of Amreli district has received maximum of rainfall in current monsoon.

It has recorded 816 mm of rainfall. Rajkot city has also recorded maximum of rainfall of 617 mm till date, the sources said.
