Surat police fail to bring SIMI activist from MP
Surat, Aug 4 (UNI) Even after several trips to Bhopal and Khandwa, Surat police could not bring the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist Imran Ansari, who was arrested at Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, to Surat, for investigations.
Sources said that Ansari will be kept in the custody of Madhya Pradesh police till August 8, after which Gujarat police can take him on a transit remand.
Ansari was among the 123 SIMI activists who were arrested here on December 27, 2001 for attending a conference.
