Surat diamond industry to issue identity cards to diamond brokers

Surat, Aug 4 (UNI) The Surat Diamond Manufactrers Association (SDMA) here has decided to issue identity cards to brokers, traders and owners of diamond processing units as part of the move to ensure trust in the industry, sources said.

As part of this plan, 50,000 brokers and traders and 10,000 owners of processing units will be issued identity cards soon. The card will contain vital information like the domicile of the person, their experience and other details.

President of Gujarat Hira Bourse, Nanubhai Vanani said, ''The cards will be issued only after the reputation of the applicants is verified.'' UNI MS GB NV1232
