Kolkata, Aug 04 (UNI) Career counselling organisation Saraswati Online.com hopes to send 1200 students to study medical courses in China this year following the July 31 Delhi High Court order asking Medical Council of India (MCI) to issue eligibility certificates in accordance with the amended Indian Medical Council Act in 2001.

The order enables the students to study in all colleges and universities mentioned in the World Directory of Medical Colleges published by the World Health Organsation as it would be recognised by the MCI while granting the eligibility certificate, Saraswati Online.com's CEO P S Ganguli said.

The eligibility certificate is necessary if the student wants to come back and write the screening test in order to practice in India with a foreign medical degree, Ganguli said.

Saraswati Online.com had send 600 students to five medical colleges in China last year.

This year the figure is expected to double following the court order and three more tie-ups with colleges in China, he added.

The cost for the five and a half year courses would range between Rs 8.5 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs depending on the standard of colleges.
