Pankaj star attraction in Faheem memorial tourney

Chennai, Aug 4 (UNI) Four time World Champion Pankaj Advani will be the star attraction in the first ever S A Faheem Memorial Tamil Nadu-Karnataka Billiards and Snooker championship to be held here from tomorrow.

Top ten players from both the States would be playing in the team championship format in this two-day inter-state challenge, organised for the first time in the country in the cue sport.

There would be two singles snooker in senior men (best of seven frames), junior and women (best of five frames each) categories, and one match each in senior men doubles snooker (best of five frames) and senior billiards to be played under the time format (90 minutes) and 150 UP format best of five frames.

One man one discipline format would apply and the event, would be hosted by the Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association every year.

TNBSA sources told UNI that Pankaj would be playing only in Snooker event.

Among the prominent cueists, who would be seen in action in the tournament included Asian games gold medallist Rafath Habib, National Snooker Champion Siddarth Rao and former Women National Champion Vidya Pllai from Tamil Nadu and World Billiards Champion B Baskar and National women's champion Chitra Magimairaj.
