Panches don the role of teachers
Karnal, Aug 4 (UNI) The panchayat of Alawala village under Jundla sub division has stepped into the role of teachers in absence of teachers in the government primary school situated in the village. The arrangement has been going on since July 12.
According to Sarpanch Hawa Singh Rana, two teachers had been teaching 300 odd students for the last one year. Since their transfer in early July, the school was rendered teacherless.
The Panchayat had knocked the doors of District Education Officer (DEO) Karnal but in absence of any satisfactory response, they arrogated themselves the role of the teachers.
Apart from matriculate sarpanch Hawa Singh, who is acting as headmaster, Krishan Pal, Ram Kishan, Parvinder Kaur and Netrapal, all panches are teaching the students.
