Mahakumbabishekam of Agneeswara Swamy Temple on Aug 31
Thiruchirapalli, Aug 4 (UNI) The 'Asthapandana Mahakumbabishekam' (Samprokshanam) of the ancient Sri Karpagambika sametha Sri Agneeswara Swamy Temple one of the famous navagraha sthalam dedicated to Lord Sukkiran (Sukkira Sthalam) at Kanjanur near Kumbakonam would be held on August 31.
Talking to UNI here Arunagirinatha Gnasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal, the 292nd pontiff of Madurai Mutt (Madurai Adheenam) said the Mahakumbabishekam would be held after a gap of 42 years.
In connection with the Mahakumbabishekam, the ancient temple under the control of Madurai Mutt, was renovatd at a cost of Rs 60 lakh contributed by the Madurai Mutt, state Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR& CE) department and the philanthropists.
The Mahakumbabishekam would be performed in the auspicious hours between 1000 hrs to 1115 hrs in 'Thula Langam' on that day. The yaga sala poojas commence on August 27 and on that day, anungjai dhana pooja , Vigneswara pooja , Mahaganapathy homam and navagraha homam would be conducted, he added.
