Left parties call statewide agitation in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug 4 (UNI) Jharkhand Left leaders today condemned Israel's ongoing attack on Lebnon.

The CPI, CPI(M), FB, RSP and MCC leaders discussed in a meeting their future agitational strategies.

CPI(M) state secretary Gyan Shankar Mazumdar told UNI here that the meeting was called to discuss the coming agitational programmes, saying a proposal against Israel had been passed in today's meeting.

Briefing about the party's agitational programmes, Mr Mazumdar said the Left parties would organise block level agitation from September 1 throughout the state and had also called " Jharkhand Bandh" on September 11.

He said the agitation was in protest against displacement, unemployment and price hike and in demand for proper implementation and functioning of rural employment guarantee scheme and public distribution system in the state.

He said different organisation like Kisan Sabha, Khet Mazdoor Union, Mahila Samiti, Navjawan Sabha, and leaders of students union were also meeting today.

Mr Mazumdar said a meeting on August 20 is scheduled to formulate national level agitational programmes.
