Khurana to visit Ayodhya to atone for sins and announce action pla
New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) Former BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana today said he was going to Ayodhya on Monday where he would announce his future course of action.
Addressing mediapersons he said his visit to Ayodhya was to atone for his sins in joining L K Advani's decision to not accept the offer of constructing Ram Temple on 95 per cent land at Ayodhya and insist on getting the entire area for temple construction.
''Even the then prime minister P V Narasimha Rao had said the temple could be built on the rest of the 95 per cent of the Ramlala area if the five per cent of the 'masjid' part was spared.'' He had even called the BJP chief ministers of four states and RSS chief Prof Rajendra Singh to agree on the proposal, but Mr Advani insisted on making the temple at the 'very place' the idols of Ram and Sita were placed, said Mr Khurana.
''Had it not been for Mr Advani, at least 95 per cent of the temple would have been made. I am going to do my bit of 'prayaschit' (atonement) and there I will announce my future plan of action.'' But on the issues that I had been talking about for the last couple of days the next step would be decided after Mr Ram Jethmalani, eminent jurist and parliamentarian, comes back from his visit abroad on August 17.
''Talks have been held with Ms Uma Bharti and Mr Jethmalani to raise those issues in Parliament.'' Mr Khurana also added that but for Mr Advani and the new 'AC room leaders' the BJP would have not reached the present state where it has lost its moorings.
