Justice P S Narayana issues notices to YSR Reddy, Keshava Rao

Hyderabad, Aug 4 (UNI) Mr Justice P S Narayana of the Andhra Pradesh High Court today issued notices to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President and MP K Keshava Rao for their reported remarks on his judgement on the Panchayat Raj elections.

Mr Justice Narayana while staying the notification for the Mandal Praja Parishad(MPP) and Zilla Praja Parishad(ZPP) elections, had made certain comments against the State Election Commissioner(SEC).

The Chief Minister and PCC President had reacted on the judgement and made certain remarks.

Viewing the statements made by these two leaders and its nature of attributing malafides, the judge asked why they should not be proceeded against under the contempt of the court Act.

The two leaders were directed to respond to the notices within ten days.

As the Advocate General C Mohan Reddy approached the Chief Justice for permission to appeal against the single judge's order, the latter granted the same.

Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons, the PCC chief denied his remarks on the single judge's ruling. ''I am second to none in respecting the judiciary'', he added.
