Srinagar, Aug 4 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered an inquiry into the suicide of a 10th class student after she was declared to have failed in the examination which she acutally had passed.

Announcing the inquiry, Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig said that next kin of the deceased student would be paid Rs one lac ex-gratia by the government.

Earlier, a member Prem Sagar Aziz raised the issue during zero hour that a 10th class student Silmo Devi, resident of Najot, Machedhi in Bani block had committed suicide after she was declared to have her examination.

On another point raised by M S Akhoon and others, Deputy Chief Minister said that government is serious in engaging all trained man power for making various schemes of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Develoment Department (PDD) operational in the state. For this purpose, the necessary advertisements would be published in daily newspapers.
