Floods: KSLSA directs K'taka Govt to save life, property
Bangalore, Aug 4 (UNI) Taking serious note of media reports on the flood havoc caused by the swollen Krishna and Bhima rivers in Northern Karnataka, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority Executive Chairman Mr Justice V Gopala Gowda has directed the State Government to take all measures to save life and property in the flood-hit areas.
In a release here today, Authority Member-Secretary A V Chandrashekhar said that according to media reports, several villages in Belgaum, Bijapur, Gulbarga and Raichur districts in Northern Karnataka have been badly affected by the deluge.
The Authority also directed its district and taluk units to render all legal assistance to the flood-affected people in accordance with the provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and report to the State body on the measures taken.
