Diamond ear coverings to Tirumala temple

Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 4: A Chennai-based devotee offered two diamond 'karunapathras' (ear coverings) worth Rs 1.1 crore to Sri Venkateswara Temple here.

The devotee, who preferred not to disclose his identity, handed over the jewels to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer A P V N Sarma last night at the temple.

The jewels will adorn the Lord during 'Brahmotsavam' next month, TTD sources said.

The same devotee had offered 'Lakshmi Sahasranamakasula Haram' in gold to Sri Padmavathi Temple at Tiruchanoor yesterday, the sources said.
