City court sends former Youth Congress president to jail
New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) A city court today sent former President of Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress&MLA from the Baljeet Nagar Assembly Constituency, Delhi, Rajesh Lilothia, to judicial costody for not complying with the Non-bailable Warrant (NBW) issued by it on August 1.
After hearing the argumnets of both the prosecution and the defence, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) sent Mr Lilothia to Tihar jail.
On June 2001, Mr Lilothia along with 100 party workers had staged a protest at the Raisina road, against the ''Tehelka'' expose despite imposition of Section 144 Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The court had issued a NBW against Mr Lilothia on August 1, 2006, but he had failed to appear in the court, according to Kishan Nautiyal, the counsel for Mr Lilothia said while talking to UNI.
Mr Lilothia is also the Chairman of West District Development Committee, Govt. of NCT Delhi that covers 12 Assembly Constituencies. He is also the member of Delhi Khadi Board.
