Bihar Samajwadi Party president convicted in murder case
Madubani, Aug 4 (UNI) Samajwadi Party's (SP) Bihar unit president Deonath Yadav was sent to jail in connection with a murder case here today.
After hearing the defence and prosecution, a fast track court of Shyam Kishore Shah sent Yadav, an MLA from Phulparas Assembly segment, and 27 other accused of the murder to jail.
The court acquitted two other accused for lack of evidence establishing their involvement in the killing.
Of the 32 named accuses in the murder case, one Rahmatullah was killed, while another died a natural death.
The accused had shot dead RJD leader Surendra Prasad Yadav in Phulparas market on April 9, 1992.
