Pondicherry, Aug 4 (UNI) The Pondicherry Administration propose to make the Swadeshi and Bharathi Mills here as a supplementing unit to the textile park, which would soon be set up in Tamil Nadu, Minister for Industries V Vaithilingam told the Legislative Assembly today.

Replying to a question, Mr Vaithiligam said the administration had sought from the South Indian Textile Research Association (SITRA) technical advice and a team would visit the mills in the next ten days.

Mr Vaithilingam said the mills issue was still at the MoU stage and the NTC had not handed over the property to the territorial administration.

A letter from the NTC received on August one asking to technically takeover the mills, demanded an amount for the same.

However, the administration was of the openion that the government would not pay any money and the NTC should do some book adjustments in the money it demanded from the Pondicherry administration.

He said that after considering all formalities, the government would decide on the provision of jobs to 300 youth in the mills after verifying qualifications.
