Baripada bandh for steel plant

Baripada, Aug 4 (UNI) Life in this north Orissa town was paralysed today following a dawn-to-dusk bandh demanding establishment of a steel plant and a state-run medical college.

The bandh, called by a local outfit Bhanja Sena, brought traffic movement to a grinding halt on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway Number 5.

All business and industrial establishments remained closed in response of the bandh call.

Police said no untoward incident was reported from any part of the town.
