Aishwaraya's father operated

Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Krishnaraj Rai, father of Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, underwent an emergency operation of his small intestine at the Hinduja Hospital here last night.

Mr Rai was admitted to the hospital yesterday after he complained of stomach ache and had several bouts of vomiting. A CT scan was performed and doctors decided to operate upon him immediately, said Hari Singh, the actress' secretary, today.

Mr Rai is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. His condition is stable and is expected to be shifted to a private ward tomorrow, he added.
