UP invites application for ex-gratia to 1984 riots' victims
Lucknow, Aug 3 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today invited applications from 1984 riots victims for providing relief to them and payment of ex-gratia under the rehabilitation package within 10 days.
The prescribed application form is to be collected from Lucknow district magistrate office, sub divisional magistrate office and concerning tehsildar. The applications are to be submitted before the SDM.
Lucknow DM Ramendra Tripathi said the government had made arrangements to provide ex-gratia to people affeced by the riots.
Under the rehabilitation package, Rs 3.50 lakh would be provided to family members of each deceased, whether he was an earning member or not, and in case of permanent disability, whether he was an earning membner of not, Rs 1.25 lakh would be provided.
The ex-gratia would be paid after deducting the amount paid by the state government earlier.
Mr Tripathi said in case of damaged residential property, 10 times the amount provided in actual by the state government earlier would be paid after deducting the amount paid by UP earlier.
Similarly, 10 times the amount provided in actual by the state government would be paid in case of damaged uninsured commercial and industrial property.
Besides, those who have migrated from riot-affected state to other states, Rs two lakh per family would be given for their rehabilitation.
