2 more farmers end lives in Western Vidarbha
Akola, Aug 3: Two farmers committed suicide in Washim and Buldhana districts in Western Vidarbha in last three days, police and family sources said today.
Police said the deceased, Sambhaji Tulshiram Muley, a farmer from Risod tehsil town in Washim district, allegedly consumed poison to end his life on July 30. He was immediately rushed to a hospital but died the next day.
In another incident, Sarangdhar Rajaram Zade (55), a farmer from Shegaon in Buldhana district committed suicide by allegedly jumping in front of a train on July 31, police said.
Constant failure of crops and indebtedness are the reasons behind the suicides, family sources said.
Ealier, three farmers from the same region committed suicide by consuming poison due to indebtedness and crop failure.
