Two arrested for involvement in housing society membership fraud

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Police have arrested two persons involved in enrolling fictitious members in Dwarka area in South-West Delhi's Kunj Vihar Group Housing Society.

Vivek Pathak, a former office bearer of the same society, and Arun Sharma were arrested after it was confirmed that they had issued 'refund cheques' to bogus members of the society, according to the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police.

This had been done by them to get enrolled fictitious members into the society and earn hefty premium from new entrants to the society.

During interrogation they said they did it on the behalf of Pradeep Mehta, another office bearer of the Society.

Pradeep Mehta had been arrested earlier when investigations began, police added.
