Subrata Bose accuses govt of destroying facts on Netaji

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The nephew of Subhash Chandra Bose today charged the government in the Lok Sabha with deliberate supression of facts and clues about the disappearance of Netaji and demanded withdrawal of the Action Taken Report(ATR) on the Justice Mukherjee Commission's findings.

Participating in the debate under Rule 193 about the alleged disappearance of Netaji, Mr Subrata Bose of Forward Bloc accused the government of continued non-cooperation with Mukherjee commission probing the disappearance of great freedom fighter Subhash Chander Bose in 1945.

The UPA government has already rejected the Mukherjee Commission's findings.

Mr Bose urged the government to accept the findings of the Mukherjee Commission to ''amend the sinful misconduct of the government for sixty years''.

He said all governments since 1947 had wilfully destroyed the facts and presented a distorted version about the disapperance of Netaji.

Mr Bose also demanded withdrawal of all assistance to the Japanese temple purportedly keeping the ashes of Netaji, saying that the government was just giving away that money as a donation without knowing the actual facts.

Mr Bose narrated a long story how late Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru suppressed the facts about the ashes brought into India and later another Prime Minister Morarji Desai made a statement on Netaji without back-up facts from the PMO.

He said the people of the country would not forgive the government for muddling up the disappearance of Netaji and added that the government should take a right stand which was expected of it.

''The people are gracious to condone the government but if you do not act, the people will not forgive you for showing disrespect to Netaji,'' Mr Bose added.
