Re strong by 15 paise closes at Rs 46.56/57/USD

Mumbai, Aug 03: Indian Rupee today grew strong by fifteen paise to close at Rs 46.56/57 per US dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.71 per US dollar, said a trader in the money market.

Rupee earlier opened at Rs 46.74/75 per US dollar and in the mid morning session traded at 46.71/72/US dollar.

RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.72/US dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.56 per US dollar.

The six month forward premia was up at 1.06 per cent and the one year forward premia was also up at 1.16 per cent.

Rupee was down against other currencies also, against Euro it was down at Rs 59.52 (59.76), against Pound Sterling it was down at Rs 87.77 (87.61) and against Yen it was down at Rs 40.51 (40.72)
