RLD's UP-wide agitation on Aug 7

Faizabad, Aug 3 (UNI) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today announed to hold state-wide agitation programme on August 7 against the alleged aquisition of agricultural land for developing high-tech cities in Uttar Pradesh.

RLD is the major ruling alliance of the Samajwadi Party-led state government.

Talking to newspersons here, RLD general secretary and former UP agriculture minister Munna Singh Chauhan lambasted the state government on this count.

''The way, productive land is being handed over to capitalists at cheaper rates for developing high tech cities is not proper,'' he alleged.

''Although, RLD is part of the ruling alliance, we will protest this anti-farmer step,'' he asserted.

On August 7, the party would hold demonstrations at all the district headquarters.
