Public information campaign to be launched across NE

Aizawl, Aug 03 (UNI) With the aim to empower poor and illiterate dewellers of remote rural areas, a massive Public Information Campaigns (PIC) would be launched across NE region.

Press Information Bureau (PIB) has been entrusted to carry out the task under six important flagship programme including Bharat Nirman and Right to Information Act.

Talking to UNI here today, Press Officer Mangjangam Touthang, PIB, said that two phases programme has already been disigned in Mizoram and other respective parts of NE states.

In first phase, the PIC is to be held during August 22-26 in Vanapa Hall, Aizwal, while second PIC would be at Lawngtlai during November 14-18.

Apart from all the media units of Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Banks, PSUs, state government departments, NGOs and youth organisations will participate in the PICs, Mr Touthang added.

All the state government departments involved in the implementation and execution of flagship programmes, which are being associated with the PIC campaign.
