Nigerian foreign minister Okonjo-Iweala resigns
ABUJA, Aug 3 (Reuters) Nigerian Foreign Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who as finance minister reformed the economy and negotiated Africa's biggest ever debt cancellation, has resigned, a government statement said today.
The resignation comes days after President Olusegun Obasanjo removed her from the head of the country's economic team, and six weeks after she was unexpectedly reassigned from finance to foreign affairs.
