MIAL takes over complete control of CST Airport
Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL), the joint venture company between GVK-ACSA and the Airports Authority of India (AAI), has taken over complete management control of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), Mumbai, from today.
As per the Operations Management and Development Agreement (OMDA) signed between MIAL and AAI, all general employees of the AAI would be retained at the airport for a three year period.
Hence, senior AAI management, barring a few, have moved back to AAI.
Managing Director of MIAL G V Sanjay Reddy said that MIAL received complete cooperation from AAI and all the employees during the transition period and ''look forward to working with all the stakeholders to make this transformation a reality.'' He said that with the objective of upgrading the infrastructure and services at CSIA, MIAL has engaged many international experts such as Netherlands Airports consultants and airport design experts from Changi Airport Singapore.
The operations team at CSIA will be headed by Philip Cash, Airport Director and Vice President (Operations), MIAL.
