Hearing of case against Bal Thackeray adjourned till Sept 15
Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) A local court today adjourned till Septmber 15 the hearing of a petition filed by Munna Tripati, president of Uttar Bhartiya Vikas Parishad, against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and Executive Editor of 'Samna' Sanjay Raut for publishing a provoking article in the Sena organ on June 20 this year.
Defence counsel informed the Metropolitan Magistrate, Railway Mobile court, Andheri, that being indisposed, Mr Theckeray was not able to be present in the court today.
Magistrate M B Datye exempted them from remaining present in the court and adjourned the matter for hearing with the directives that both Mr Thackeray and Mr Raut should be present in the court on the next date of hearing.
Mr Tripati said in his petition that the article which was published on the front page of leading paper 'Samna' was provoking one community against another and amounts to promotion of disharmony. The language was provoking Hindus to fight against Muslims, he stated in the petition.
