Facing allegations is occupational hazard of every FM: PC
New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram today dismissed as ''occupational hazard'' the demand for his resignation by Mr Amar Singh, Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member, for his alleged association with the Vedanta Resources PLC, reportedly involved in financial irregularities.
Talking to reporters, he, however, refused to comment on the demand for a CBI inquiry against him by SP, TDP and AIADMK members in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.
''I will not respond to any matter sought to be raised during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha,'' he said.
''However, if I receive a notice from the Chairman, I will immediately respond to it within an hour,'' he said.
Asked whether the Income Tax Department was updating him on tax matters relating to the allegation, he said the Department did not inform him on each and every matter.
