Delhi Govt reluctant to call Assembly session: BJP
New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Opposition BJP in Delhi today claimed the ruling Congress was ''reluctant'' to call a fresh sitting of the Assembly because it wanted to escape scrutiny of its role in resolving issues of public concern.
''The Congress Government in the name of beautification of the legislative assembly wants to postpone the monsoon session for a long time and avoid discussion on people's problems,'' state BJP chief Harsh Vardhan said in a statement.
While accusing the Government of calling very few sittings of the House over the past few years, he said the ruling party was reluctant to call the monsoon session also because it recently lost the byelection to the Subhash Nagar municipal ward.
