D P Singh leads in Open Chess tourney
Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) Divakar Pratap Singh of Jharkand was leading the table with 7.5 points after eighth round of Adyar Times Fide-rated Open Chess Tournament today.
Unbeaten so far, D P Singh had no difficulty in defeating O T Anil Kumar of Kerala in a Queens Indian Defence games.
In another game, Sagar Sha of Maharashtra and Ram S Krishnan of Tamil Nadu drew their game after a long battle.
Sudhakar Babu of Indian Bank had a tough time with Haribalu pf Tamilnadu, a student of St Joseph Engineering College. They both settled for draw after exchanging some of the pieces.
