Custodial death: KPCC demands judicial inquiry
Palakkad, Aug 3 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala today demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of Mr Parameswaran, while he was under the custody of Managalam Dam police.
After visiting Parameswaran's house, he told reporters here the government should provide financial assistance to the kin of Mr Parameswaran.
Alleging that the law and order situation in the state was deteriorating after the Left Democratic Front (LDF) came to power, he warned that if the situation continued the United Democratic Front (UDF) would go for strong agitations.
Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan had also criticised the frequent custodial deaths reported from various parts of the state, he said.
Earlier, Mr Ramesh had handed over Rs one lakh from the KPCC to the victim's family.
